Our algorithms calculate both the current climate impact (via Implied Temperature Rise) and climate risks (overheating in summer, new/increased CO2 taxes, etc.) of buildings as well as the cost-optimal renovation strategy for 1.5°C compliance. For this purpose, current and site-specific data from various sources are linked and high-resolution dynamic building simulations are performed. Using science-based life cycle assessment, current and future Scope 1 (fossil fuel combustion), Scope 2 (electricity and district heating consumption), and Scope 3 (manufacturing, transportation, installation, and disposal of building materials and building technology) greenhouse gas emissions are calculated and converted to degrees Celsius of global warming. Finally, taking into account local conditions and regulations, the feasibility as well as the environmental and financial impact of various measures are assessed to determine the cost-optimal 1.5°C-compliant renovation strategy.
