Digital renovation planning for homeowners: HEV Zurich cooperates with Scandens

The Zurich Homeowners' Association (HEV) and Scandens, a leader in software solutions for energy-efficient building renovations, are entering into a partnership. The aim is to support homeowners in renovating their buildings and increasing the long-term value of their properties.

With the AI-supported software from ETH spin-off Scandens, private homeowners can check whether and which renovation measures make sense - both financially through increased value and ecologically through CO₂ savings. Based on a digital twin of the property, the software simulates over 500 renovation combinations and creates an optimal plan that serves as the basis for implementation.

Thanks to the cooperation, HEV Zurich can expand its range of advisory services. "As an association that provides comprehensive support to homeowners in the Zurich region, it is important to us to offer forward-looking and practical solutions," says Albert Leiser, Director of HEV Zurich. "With Scandens, we can offer our members a very well-founded, digital planning aid that saves time and promotes sustainable decisions."

Diego Sigrist, co-founder of Scandens, adds: "Our mission is to increase renovation rates in Switzerland and actively support owners in increasing the value of their properties." The cooperation with HEV Zurich means that the Scandens software is also available to private homeowners for the first time.

The partnership sends out a clear signal for the promotion of sustainable renovations and the decarbonisation of Zurich's building stock - with benefits for the environment and the homeowners' wallets.
